About Me

Hi, I am Danyelle Moreno. I am now starting my 19th year in education. I have taught Kindergarten for 11 years, was the  Gifted and Talented specialist for Kinder-2nd for 7 years, as well as running a Steam lab for all 29 K-2 classrooms. In my GT role, I pull students twice a week. Working with GT students is my passion, as I remember being pulled by such amazing teachers when I went through the GT program. I just accepted the MIS (Media Integrated Specialist)/Librarian for a 3rd-5th grade position at the feeder school I just left. I am excited to move up with my 2nd graders and challenge myself in a new way.
I have always held an interest in teaching children. My 2nd-grade teacher, who was also my 4th-grade teacher, is a big reason I pursued my education degree. She taught with such passion and helped foster my love for learning. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to volunteer in elementary classrooms during my summer breaks. During my senior year in high school, I was given the opportunity to be a teacher's aide for Pre-K. My classroom teacher allowed me to teach various lessons and lead small groups.
My husband and I are blessed with two beautiful children. Our daughter, Aubrey is currently 14 and a freshman, and our son, Alec is 13 and in the 8th grade. My husband and I met in college at the University of Houston, Go Coogs! Our time is divided between watching Aubrey compete with her dance team at competitions or we are cheering for Alec in the theater, he is a member of his theater production team. Our family loves cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros.
